Z Bauer Architects was founded by Zohrab Bauer in 2017 to provide bespoke architectural, structural and engineering design services, as well as consulting and project management for design and construction projects.

Zohrab is an internationally experienced, passionate and creative architect, specialising in energy efficiency and renewables. He is particularly fascinated by the connection between architecture and social interaction, including making spaces work for people with special needs.

Following his formal training, Zohrab has led or consulted on a wide range of projects for Armenian and international clients, and completed an executive internship program with Kirsty Maguire Architects (Scotland) to further his understanding of Passive House Design. He subsequently worked with KMA on projects in Armenia and Scotland, including developing the first standard energy efficient house designs for individual residential housing in Armenia, in partnership with the Ministry of Urban Development. He has also consulted for international organizations such as GIZ, UNICEF, UNDP and HRHF for the design and implementation of various office building projects.

Zohrab founded Z Bauer Architects because he wanted to use his international experience to shape a larger local vision for Armenia, and he is actively involved in social and civil movements related to urban development and the historical heritage of Yerevan and Armenia. With every project, the goal of Z Bauer Architects is to understand the people, environment, history and culture of the place, and translate this into a stunning architectural design that will meet the client’s needs – now, and in the future.
